What's the most famous movie you've never seen?
Submitted by Mike.
There are so many. I think Gone With the Wind and Casablanca lead the list.
What's on your holiday wish list?
So far no one has asked me what I'd like so I'm hoping for gift certificates to craft stores and/or bookstores. But these are what I would like to have . . .
Books
- Ombria in Shadows by Patricia McKillip
- The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish by Neil Gaiman
- Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman
- Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman
- The Mislaid Magician or Ten Years After by Patricia Wrede & Caroline Stevermer
CDs
- Princess Bride Soundtrack
- The Offspring - Greatest Hits
DVDs
- The Ultimate Matrix Collection (10 discs)
- Labyrinth: Widescreen Box Collector
- Animaniacs: Vol. 1
- Animaniacs: Vol. 2
The story:
I decided to warm milk in the microwave for my hot chocolate. When retrieving the warm milk, I was very surprised to see a tiny spider in the microwave. It seemed to have survived being microwaved for 1:30 minutes. However, I decided it could not live. With my luck, the microwaves would cause it to grow to enormous porportations, it would spin a web, and my cat would get caught in the web ('cause she's nosy). Only with the help of an attractive guy that everyone says is nuts would we survive and in doing so fall madly in love. It would be the ultimate science fiction B movie. I deserve better than a science fiction B movie -- I rank at least an A- movie so the spider had to go . . .
The song:
There's a spider in my room
There's a spider in my room
And then a voice above my head
Said if that spider were made dead
I'd better grow some fins 'cause
It would make it easier to swim
I don't like spiders and snakes
The way they crawl, the way they shake
If a spider gets killed how does that make it rain
How could I be the one to blame
A whisper drizzled down from the ice in its eyes
it said, "Try pickin' on your own damn size,"
But the Hoover was quick, termination complete
In its bedroom home got a chance to eat.
In the corner beside my bed
Very busy spinning thread
Eight legs and a little head
I hear the thunder from outside
And the water's gettin' high
I don't like moths and bugs
They buzz, they get in the rugs
But where does a guy find some room
in this life raft home, a little rubber tomb
There's a spider in my room
There's a spider in my room

What movie can you quote by heart?
Submitted by clamhead.
Unsurprisingly, the one movie I can quote the most from by heart is Clue. The Princess Bride and Little Shop of Horrors are a close second and third . . .
If you could watch any movie on the big screen right at this moment, what would it be?
Clue! Tim Curry . . . mmmm . . .
Who's your favorite movie villain?
Any villain played by Tim Curry with Wadsworth, Gaal, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, The Lord of Darkness, and Cardinal Richelieu at the top of the list . . . I'd so listen to him read a phone book . . .
I'm a huge LibraryThing fan. It's the greatest "Web 2.0" application written. By it's count, I own 677 books/DVDs/VHS tapes. Flickr is the 2nd greatest application so all of my pictures go there.
Because of that, I see no reason to recreate them here. So I've listed some of my favorite books, movies, and music. Unsurprisingly the books and movies are heavy on fantasy. :-)
